Wisconsin
- AHEC Community Health Internship Program links undergraduate and graduate student interns with local health departments throughout the state to address a variety of public health issues.
- Wisconsin Express is an opportunity for college students studying health professions to spend a week-long immersion in one of Wisconsin's diverse communities, learning about health care resources and the challenges faced by a local and regional, urban or rural population.
- SPUR at MCW provides laboratory experience in science, in which the undergraduate works with graduate faculty, students, and staff on significant ongoing basic science research issues.
- UW-Madison SROP is a unique chance for undergraduates to work closely with faculty mentors and graduate students in their major discipline. Students accepted into research programs are matched with faculty whose expertise and interests match the student’s research interest.
Minnesota
- Minneapolis Heart Institute Summer Research Internship is designed to give students professional experience. Interns are integrated into a research area and assigned to work on a clinical research project. They will also have the chance to watch cardiovascular surgery, shadow nurse practitioners, and observe cath labs, stress testing, and CT/MRIs, among other things.
Illinois
- The University Of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine offers two summer opportunities: PSOMER (Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research) and CAMP (Chicago Academic Medicine Program).
- Illinois College of Optometry offers the Focus on Your Future Summer Program aimed at exposing underrepresented minority undergraduates to the profession of optometry.
